From a young age, I have always been passionate about promoting positive change for myself and my community. Never afraid of a challenge, I have taken advantage of many opportunities that allowed me to study at universities such as NYU, Columbia University, and Harvard University since my sophomore year of high school. As the former president of a social awareness club called Beauty and Brains, I bring members of her community together to discuss social issues and come up with solutions that can be implemented. I have also held many events that helped the student body show appreciation towards one another such as a Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day event. I plan to bring this club to Duke University. I also plan to study the neuroscience of developmental and psychiatric disorders. I hope to contribute to research and further our understanding of the brain so that our community can better accommodate people with brain disorders.
“I love being a Cardea Fellow and having access to resources such as mentorship programs. I feel like I am on a focused pre-health track and that I am forever grateful for!”
