Hi, my name is Sarah Houston. I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina, and I am a prospective Neuroscience and Music double major. In my free time, I am heavily involved in the arts (i.e., piano and dance), but I am also interested in making and selling skincare products. Right now, I am a member of Neurocare, FEMMES, and GlobeMed. Because I am a prospective neuroscience major, Neurocare allows me to learn more about neuroscience (as I am not currently taking a Neuro class) while also allowing me to educate other students. FEMMES is one of my favorite activities so far as I am able to educate, mentor, and build relationships with younger students. I also volunteer with Pancakes for Parkinson's and am on the Audio Production team of Small Town Records. In the future, I hope to go to medical school, and eventually become a pediatric neurologist. I'm fascinated with the brain and love to work with kids! Particularly, I would like to specialize in either neurodegenerative diseases, epilepsy, or mental health. I have not yet decided what I want to do with music, but I know for a fact that I will continue with it while at Duke and after graduation. This may be in the form of composing, continuing private piano lessons, or producing. Overall, I am very excited for what the future holds!
