Neuroscience & Linguistics

Serving and volunteering for communities, especially those in high need, is a core aspect of my life and part of what drives me towards medicine. At Duke, I do this by being a member of Roteract and Duke Refugee Advocacy Program. In my future, I want to carry this with me and help provide answers to those with health struggles the best I can.

Neurology in particular is a field I'm interested in for my future career as I find the brain fascinating and major in neuroscience. I'm also pursuing a minor in linguistics out of person interest, but also with the interest of working with others. I believe that language is a large part of people's lives whether consciously or not. I'm particularly interested in sociolinguistics, which I think helps reveal and address biases along with bridging cultural differences in communication to make sure that others feel heard and avoid miscommunication.

Outside of career goals and service, I love all types of art and media (I love to read, animate, and play violin) and also really enjoy trivia.
