Wesley Chapel, Florida

My name is Tiye Flavien and I am from Florida. I currently work as a Research Technician in the Boyer Lab developing a site called Morphosource used to make fossil specimens more accessible for research, education, etc. In addition to my lab work, I assist in helping ensure the Cardea Fellowship is a strong support network for all fellows.I participated in Summer Biomedical Sciences Institute here at Duke where I had the opportunity to study alongside other prehealth professionals from around the country. I've study abroad in Spain for a short period of time where I had the opportunity to learn more about the diversity of the region of Andalusia. I am pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Evolutionary Anthropology with a concentration in Anatomy and Paleontology. My personal interests in history and biology led to me choosing Evolutionary Anthropology as a major as it connects the past and present through science.
