Psychology Major, Chemistry and Biology minors

Sierra is interested in pursuing a career in Pediatrics. She is also very interested in child development and global health and hopes to spend a gap year abroad providing medical services to underserved communities before attending medical school. 

Since her freshman year, she has worked with Duke Medicine and is now a work-study research assistant for the Duke ADHD program as well as. She also volunteers weekly with the Durham VA Hospital and holds a lab positon in the J Todd Purves Department of Surgury Urology Lab where she is researching receptor expression in obstructed bladders. Sierra has participated in Duke in Alicanta, Spain, Duke in Australia, and Duke Engage - Durban, South Africa, 

Her roles on campus include co-president of Duke Global Brigades, and active membership roles in the American Medical Student Association, American Medical Women's Association, and Health Occupations Students of America. She is planning to apply to medical school shorty after graduation and is considering AmeriCorp positions for her gap year.
