Paul Shaver

Paul Shaver is a Biology and Global Health double major. As a president of  Project CASFA, member of Duke Disability Alliance, Event Coordinator of HOSA, ECO-Rep, Admission Ambassador, chemistry TA, and Research Assistant for a Brain Development lab; he is very active on Duke’s campus. In his free time, Paul enjoys exploring the restaurants, music venues, state parks, and recreational areas within the Triangle Area. 

This summer he spent two weeks completing LEAP, Launch Into Education About Pharmacology, in which he was able to learn about the pharmacology industry, drug receptors, and pharmacology policy. He also completed SMDEP at Duke, a six week program that encompasses shadowing opportunities, medical school classes, networking opportunities with admission officers from top medical schools from around the United States, ability to practice medical school interviews with Duke Medical faculty, and opportunities to practice patient contact with both real patients and professional actors. Finally, he spent the last two weeks of summer as a FAC, first year advisory counselor, where he helped the Duke Class of 2018 move-in and ultimately adjust to Duke University.
