2019

Tarboro, North Carolina

My involvement on Duke's campus spans from performance groups to community building and research. I'm currently the co-president of the Duke Swing Performance Club and have served as president of Central Campus Independent House Council, sisterhood chair of the Chi Omega Fraternity Mu Kappa chapter, and performance coordinator/choreographer two years in a row for Duke Swing. In addition, I have been a member of the Duke University Marching and Pep Band all four years.

I am majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology (BS) with a concentration in behavior, ecology, and cognition and minoring in Psychology and Chemistry. I'm interested in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Orthopedics . At the beginning of sophomore year, I began research in the Identity and Diversity Lab under Dr. Sarah Gaither in the department of Psychology and Neuroscience, focusing on social psychology. Under Dr. Gaither's guidance I was awarded the Dean's Fellowship for the summer of 2017, culminating in presenting my research project at the 2018 Visible Thinking poster event. I have worked as a tutor with Duke Athletics in various subjects and have participated in the Duke In Bologna and Duke Engage San Francisco programs.

Outside of these activities I enjoy literature, meditation, art exhibits and performances, social dancing, journaling, adventuring, singing, and spending time outdoors.
