San Francisco, California

Academic Interests: Sociology major with minors in Chemistry and Japanese.

Alongside the Cardea Fellows program, I am a Goldberg Scholar, a member of Nakisai African Dance Ensemble and Future is Now, a mentorship program for young girls through the Durham public school system on campus. I am also a member of the 2020 Reimagine Medicine cohort, a program that approaches medicine through artist applications. I've known I wanted to work with people since I was in elementary school, but I realized I wanted to work in the medical field in high school. In my junior year, I became hyper-aware of medical bias and how that impacts racial disparities, and that led me to want to join the medical field. I plan to pursue a career as an OB/GYN. Outside of my academics, I enjoy knitting and embroidering in my free time. During the summers, I have taken pre-health courses and interned at innovative non-profit organizations and companies. Through my internships, I have been able to develop my research, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
