My name is Kianna Lawrence, and I am a Psychology major, with a double minor in Education and Biology. This path allows me to combine my interests in the health field and education, while also learning about people on a psychological level. I am a research assistant in a Developmental Psychology lab, studying decision making among adults, adolescents, and young children. I am also a research assistant in a Social Psychology lab, studying the connection between people's perceptions of others, and its effect on the motivation to interact with others. At Duke, I am the president for the Pre- Physical Therapy Association, a member of the executive board for the Students of the Caribbean Association, a dancer on Nakisai African Dance Ensemble, and a mentor in Future is Now. I also volunteer at Duke's Benefits Enrollment Center, working to provide health care and other necessary resources such as transportation, food, and options for healthier nutrition to people in Durham and nearby communities. My goals include becoming a Pediatric Physician Assistant, while also working to increase access to health care.
