I am from Atlanta, Georgia, and I am a Public Policy Studies major (pre-med). I am of Nigerian ancestry, and I lived in Lagos, Nigeria for five years before moving to Atlanta in 2007. It was during my time growing up in Atlanta, Georgia and Lagos, Nigeria that my passion for medicine was ignited. These seemingly distinct environments had one thing in common that was hard for me to ignore—a healthcare system that left disadvantaged individuals without quality care.
I am a Baldwin Scholar, a Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholar (Merit Scholarship at Duke), and a dancer with United in Praise, which is a student ministry on campus. Since arriving at Duke, I’ve had the opportunity to pursue my research interests in health disparities and health services research through Bass Connections. I also volunteer with CEF (Community Empowerment Fund) as an advocate and team leader.

I also enjoy thrifting (and shopping in general, haha), cooking, dancing, and knitting. I am addicted to Pinterest, and my go to music genres are Christian worship music and Nigerian (Naija) tunes. I feel most alive when I’m spending time with my family and loved ones.
