I have a curiosity for the world and a love of forming interpersonal connections with people. I was born in Ghana and lived there for the first ten years of my life. After, my family and I moved to the United States and have lived in Orange County, Virginia ever since. I value my Christian faith and see it as an anchor and drive in my life. I enjoy community service and have dedicated many hours to leading first years in serving the Durham community. I enjoy fostering community through any means I am given, including the various leadership opportunity I've been afforded at Duke. I enjoyed her time serving as the president for Duke’s undergraduate African student association, DukeAFRICA. I am majoring in Biology and minoring in Global Health and Chemistry. I hope to become a Pediatric Surgeon one day and practice Medicine in the United States to help combat childhood obesity, raise funds to provide supplies and resources to children’s hospitals, and ultimately help improve healthcare outcome in my home town of Breman Asikuma in Central Region, Ghana.
