At Duke, I am majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Psychology and Chemistry and I hope to become a Neurologist/ Psychiatrist as well as conduct research focused on discovering new therapeutics for psychiatric disorders. On campus, I am David M. Rubenstein Scholar as well as a Peer Responder in an organization called Peer For You (PFY). PFY provides support to students dealing with struggles at Duke whether it is about the stress of Duke, familial issues, or any other problems that students might need support in. My research experience includes being a research assistant at the Duke Center for Eating Disorder in the lab of Dr. Nancy Zucker and the Neurotoxicity / Neuropharmacology lab of Dr. Edward Levin. Additionally,I am  member of a Bass connections Research team that is creating and piloting an app that will improve mental health outcomes for students by using trained Peer health coaches who can give support through the use of online avatars. During my free time, I like to listen to Podcasts (I highly recommend Hidden Brain and Radio Lab), indulge in Japanese graphic novels, and spend some time with my family and friends.

“ Being a first generation college student, I often know where I want to go but am unsure of the right steps to take in order to get there. The Cardea Fellowship program allows me to get the tools, guidance, and community that I need in order achieve my goal of having a career in the medical field. ”
