Hi my name is Lexi and I am from San Diego, California. I have chosen to create my own course of study through Program II. The title of my program is Biopsychosocial Aspects of Global Women's Health: A Life Course Perspective. Through this course of study, I hope to understand the ways in which women's health is influenced by biopsychosocial factors throughout each stage of life, and how these determinants and outcomes compare globally. At Duke I am a research assistant to the Duke Thoracic Surgical Research Group. I also am co-president of Harmonies for Health, and with this organization I play guitar at the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, I volunteer at Hillcrest Convalescent Center, volunteer in the Duke surgical waiting rooms, and am President of Duke HAND. In my free time I enjoy playing guitar and figure skating with the Duke Club Figure Skating team. After graduation, I hope to go to medical school and become a Reproductive Endocrinologist.
